Chris Coggin
After graduating from the Acton School of Business in 2011, Chris served as vice president of Thelese Management for seven years and is now company president. Through more than fifty transactions, he has learned the importance of making evidence-based investment decisions based on real-world metrics. Unlike many finance professionals who rely solely on complex financial models, Chris is known to consider metrics like “dust on inventory” and “customer high fives” to determine attractiveness.
In 2016, Chris joined his long-time investment partner at Tejas Investments Partners to acquire controlling positions in low to middle market companies in Texas. The combination of acquisition size and geographic focus allows Tejas to acquire strong, founder-operated companies, and implement best-practices to prepare them for an exit in a larger universe of buyers. Chris’s passion for entrepreneurship and driving the Texas economy make Tejas his perfect fit.
Apart from his family, Chris says he is most proud of his role as a teacher at the Acton School of Business. He calls his motivation for teaching as primarily selfish. “I get to stand in front of a group of incredibly smart folk who have poured themselves into solving incredibly complex problems. I have never left a class without learning something profound from a student.”
