Acton Answers: Make the Right Investment for Your Future
OCTOBER 7, 2014
As you make decisions about earning your MBA, return on investment is crucial.
The right investments lead to life-changing opportunities. If it’s an investment worth making, you’ll recognize right away that it’s going to turn your dreams into reality.
When it comes to earning your MBA, return on investment is key. Making the time commitment to pursue an MBA often means sidelining the security of a full-time salary. Plus, the tuition you pay on top of living expenses can be substantial.
How large of an investment are you willing to make for your future?
If it’s the right MBA program, the tuition will be a small price to pay—especially once the skills and knowledge you’ve acquired get tested in the real-world and you wind up paving the road to success. Finding the right program can be a challenge, particularly if you have an entrepreneurial spirit that drives you to push past arbitrary boundaries and break out of systems that don’t work. Traditional MBA’s focus too much on book learning and too little on real-world challenges.
The only way to develop entrepreneurial skills is to come face-to-face with real-world business challenges that actively develop traits like courage and perseverance. Being an entrepreneur isn’t just about understanding the business, you need to understand yourself.
Want to break out of the lecture format and immerse yourself in a stimulating environment that will teach you—through experience—how to build a successful business? If so, Acton might be the right environment for you. Acton takes a hands-on approach to education. Our teachers are successful entrepreneurs who have already seen how unforgiving the business world can be. They’ve been there and done that, and they’ve learned to map out the invisible patterns and models that make strong companies work.
As you make decisions about earning your MBA, return on investment is crucial. Take a good, long look at the amount of time you want to spend and the format that best fits your personality. Will it be effective for you to take two years of classes, or does it make more sense to immerse yourself in a hands-on environment, get the job done in less than half the time of other business programs, and start your new life as an entrepreneur sooner? If your time is too valuable to waste, you may have your answer.
Acton graduates learn to think, listen, and communicate clearly. Their experiences at Acton teach them how to make meaningful differences in the way they live, and those same experiences have made profound changes in the way they work. Entrepreneurs are about innovation, creation, and doing things better than their competition. Acton’s the same.
